Pressure Cooker Mashed Potatoes: Cooks in Five Minutes
Making pressure cooker mashed potatoes is so fast and easy, you will love this recipe. Your family will love it, too. It is one of our family’s side dish staples. They come out fluffy and delicious.
I used to make mashed potatoes the old-fashioned way, but you have to wait for the water to boil and then it takes 15-20 minutes to cook them. With this pressure cooker mashed potatoes recipe, you put the potatoes in the pressure cooker to cook, and within 5 minutes they’re ready — in just 1/3 of the time.
Don’t fret about using real cream and butter. Cream and butter are loaded with vitamin A and vitamin K2, nutrients your body needs for heart health, brain health, healthy bones and teeth, and immunity.
Pressure Cooker Mashed Potatoes: Recipe Notes
Use russet or Yukon Gold potatoes instead of other varieties. They have the right amount of starch for fluffy mashed potatoes.
Also I highly recommend that you try to get organic potatoes. There is a lot of pesticide residue on potatoes, and fluoride if fluoride-based pesticides are used.
I also don’t recommend just any pressure cooker. I only recommend the Instant Pot because it has a stainless steel bowl instead of Teflon.
Finally, do not overmash your potatoes or you will end up with gluey mashed potatoes.
