How I Spent My Summer Vacation in Sun Valley, Idaho
I wanted to share with you guys what an awesome time 5-year-old Kate and I had in Sun Valley in August.

Talk about a family friendly place! We met my sister and Kate’s cousins there for a little girl time and it was such an amazing week.
There’s a fantastic YMCA in Sun Valley with a pool that has a lazy river and incredible slide, a climbing wall, a pool table, etc. etc. We went there every day so the girls could climb and swim.
They also have a ski lodge where you can go eat lunch, and go ice skating and bowling.
The farmer’s market in Ketchum is great. Local goat cheese, organic wine, grass-fed beef, root beer lollipops made with honey.
And you can get local trout and elk at the supermarket.
One night, we packed a loaf of local organic French bread, some trout and some Marscapone cheese and had a picnic dinner while we listened to the symphony play.
We also went to a place called Galena Lodge where we got to go on a horse-drawn wagon ride with real cowboys. Kate even got to hold the reins.
After that we went back to the lodge for a barbecue.

I made a little video slideshow of all my photos so we can remember what a great time we had.
I’m so grateful to Steve Jobs and Apple for making it so easy to make cute slideshows like this!
If you ever get a chance to go to Sun Valley in the summertime, I highly recommend it. Especially if you have kids.
Wintertime in Sun Valley is also fabulous — but that’s a whole ‘nother post… I want to go back and go skiing and snowboarding this winter.
